History Essential Knowledge and Tasks
Essential Knowledge
Our History curriculum has been carefully planned and each lesson sequenced to allow the pupils to revisit and then build upon previous learning. For each period/event of History taught Essential Knowledge (what we want the children to know) has been mapped out into Essential Knowledge 1,2 and 3. Essential knowledge 1 is taught and assessed in years one, three and five. Essential Knowledge 2 is taught and assessed in years 2,4 and 6. If a child completes and is secure in all the Essential 1 and 2 knowledge they will then move on to Essential Knowledge 3. This is shown in Knowledge Organisers and Essential Knowledge documents.
